Emraan Hashmi and John Abraham starrer, ‘Mumbai Saga’ has not managed to surpass the collections in the first week. Keeping the new Covid-19 restrictions, lockdown in a few areas. The film, ‘Mumbai Saga’ should have collected at least 25% more than its week one haul of Rs. 13.40 crore.
The first review of the film, ‘Mumbai Saga’ on social media hinted at good response at the box office. Theatres didn’t witness as many numbers as were expected. Trade Analyst, Taran Adarsh wrote, “#MumbaiSaga underperforms, despite positive word of mouth… The #Hindi markets – #Maharashtra specifically – are affected due to #Covid19 pandemic… Fri 2.82 cr, Sat 2.40 cr, Sun 3.52 cr, Mon 1.49 cr, Tue 1.47 cr, Wed 90 lacs, Thu 83 lacs. Total: Rs 13.43 cr. #India biz (sic).”
The film, ‘Mumbai Saga’ also stars Jackie Shroff, Kajal Aggarwal, Prateik Babbar and Gulshan Grover, among others. The story is based on the underworld rivalry in Mumbai. John is seen as a Mumbai gangster while Emraan plays a cop. The film was scheduled to release on June 19, 2020, but due to the pandemic the film was not released.
