A Madhya Pradesh IAS official made a request to the creators of The Kashmir Files.

The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, has been creating waves in Bollywood and has received an incredible response from the public, sending the box office cash registers ringing.

In the midst of the increasing collections, a Madhya Pradesh IAS official made a plea to the film’s producers. Niyaz Khan has now urged that the filmmaker contribute all of the film’s profits to the education of Kashmiri Pandit children as well as the construction of homes for them in Kashmir, in a recent tweet.

For the uninitiated, Niyaz Khan is the Deputy Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Public Works Department as well as the author of seven books, notably Talaq Talaq Talaq and Be Ready to Die, about the Islamic State’s slaughter of Yazidis in 2014.

”Income of Kashmir Files reached 150 crores. Great. People have given a lot of respect for Kashmiri Brahmins’ feelings.I would respect the film producer to transfer all earnings to the Brahmin children’s education and construction of homes for them in Kashmir. It will be a great charity,” he wrote in a tweet on Sunday.

Surprisingly, director Vivek Agnihotri responded to Khan’s plea by informing him that he will be visiting Bhopal on March 25 and requested an appointment with him so that they might discuss ways to aid the community.

”Sir Niyaz Khaan Sahab, Bhopal aa raha hoon 25th ko. Please give an appointment so we can meet and exchange ideas how we can help and how you can help with the royalty of your books and your power as an IAS officer”, read Agnihotri’s tweet.

The Karni Sena has requested Zee Studios and Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri to donate half of the profits from the film to the displaced Kashmiri Pandits.

Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, and Pallavi Joshi feature in The Kashmir Files, which tells the actual storey of the violent persecution of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990. The film also broke the second-week box office records of Sooryavanshi and Spiderman by a significant margin.
