Farhan Akhtar gets trolled for congratulating the Women’s Hockey Team

Farhan Akhtar took to social media on Thursday morning and congratulated the Indian women’s hockey team, instead of the men’s hockey team for winning a bronze medal at Tokyo Olympics 2020. The actor posted a tweet writing ‘go girls’ but later deleted it. However, the screenshot of his tweet has gone viral on social media now.

Many Bollywood celebs took to social media soon after the Indian men’s hockey team won a bronze medal at Tokyo Olympics, to wish for congratulatory messages. Farhan Akhtar too posted a message. But, mistakenly, instead of men, the actor praised the Indian women’s team.

His deleted tweet is read as, “Go girls. So proud of team India for showing exemplary fighting spirit and bringing in our 4th medal.. super stuff. #Tokyo2020 Hockey.”

Later, the 47-year-old actor shared another tweet for the winning team. He wrote, “So proud of Team India for showing exemplary fighting spirit and bringing in our 4th medal.. super stuff. Tokyo 2020. Hockey.”

Indian Men’s Hockey Team’s historic win at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 came after 41 years as they brought bronze for the country winning against Germany. The Indian women’s hockey team has lost to Argentina in the semi-final match on Wednesday.
