‘Chehre’: Gearing up for theatre release; makers considering THESE dates

The film “Chehre” was slated for a 2020 release.  It was held back due to the closure of cinema halls owing to Covid-19.  As lockdown restrictions are easing, the films are lining up for their big-screen release. The makers of “Chehre” have picked up a tentative release date.  The movie has Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi, and Rhea Chakraborty in the lead roles.

Reportedly,  “The team was actually hoping for an April release initially. Thereafter,  August was settled on. Now,  August 27th or September 3rd are being considered for the film’s theatre release.”.

‘Chehre’ is the second Bollywood film that is considered for a theatrical release. Early this week,  Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom has announced the same.  Apart from an official statement on the release of “Chehre”, fans are waiting for a second trailer of the film.

As regards its OTT vs theatre release, Emraan Hashmi stated, “Just when we thought we were out of the woods, it hit back even harder. We have no option but to wait it out. Eventually, it will be the producers’ call as to how they plan to release Chehre. Even when theatres  will eventually open, it will take a while for the audience to start going there.”
