Amitabh Bachchan remembers the first movie with Jaya shares vintage picture

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has shared a black and white picture with his wife and actress Jaya Bachchan. The vintage photo is from their first film together, Bansi Aur Birju.

In the priceless picture, Amitabh and Jaya are seen sharing a hug. Sharing the photo, Amitabh wrote, “Our first film together .. ‘Bansi aur Birju’.. released Sept 1, 1970 .. that’s 49 years ago.”

Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda and granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda reacted to his post. Shweta wrote, “Love you both,” while Navya dropped a heart emoji.

In Bansi Aur Birju, Amitabh portrayed Birju while Jaya essayed Bansi. The film was helmed by Prakash Verma. Amitabh and Jaya later starred together in several films including Sholay, Abhimaan, Silsila, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and others.

Amitabh and Jaya got married in 1973. The couple is parents to Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan.

Amitabh was recently seen in Chehre along with Emraan Hashmi. The mystery thriller film is directed by Rumi Jaffery and also stars Krystle D’Souza, Rhea Chakraborty, Siddhanth Kapoor, and Annu Kapoor among others. The film was scheduled to release in 2020 but got delayed due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan is currently busy shooting for the new season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Besides this, he
has several interesting projects lined up. The senior actor will be seen in Goodbye, The Intern, and Brahmastra. Jaya, on the other hand, will be seen in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani. She will play Ranveer Singh’s mother in the movie.
