Amitabh Bachchan’s Chehre to release on August 27

Mumbai: Superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s much-awaited film Chehre is all set to release in theatres. The makers have fixed August 27 as the film’s release date.

The film was supposed to release a few months back, but it has been extended due to the Covid-19 lockdown. However, the team is waiting for the right time for the theatrical release.

On the announcement of the new release date, producer Anand Pandit said, “The team had put in a lot of effort and we always thought Chehre deserves a theatrical release. We want the magnificence of the film to be showcased in the right way and hence are excited to reach out to the audience through cinema screens.

In Chehre, the audience will see senior Bachchan playing the role of a lawyer, while Emraan Hashmi plays the role of a business tycoon.

“We are excited that our film is getting a theatrical release because the way it has been shot and the efforts we have put in in terms of production and post-production, they are experienced only in cinema halls. Also, I assure the audience that it will be beyond satisfaction to see Amitabh ji and Emraan together on the big screen for the first time,” director Rumi Jaffrey said.

Amitabh on Thursday announced the release date on Instagram.

Directed by Rumi Jaffrey, Chehre also stars Annu Kapoor, Krystle D’Souza, Drithiman Chakraborty, Raghubir Yadav, Rhea Chakraborty and Siddhant Kapoor.
