HOUSEFULL 5 movie Review: IF YOU STILL LAUGH AT THE WORD ’69’ THEN YES; YOU’LL HAVE A GREAT TIME WATCHING THIS!

Plot:

Billionaire Ranjeet is no more, and his astonishing wealth of 69 billion pounds is set to be inherited by his first son, ‘Jolly’. But things take a twist when not one, but three men named Jolly arrive to claim the fortune. To identify the real Jolly, a DNA test is arranged – until the doctor is mysteriously murdered. Who killed the doctor, and who is the real Jolly? These questions form the core of the story.

The Performances:

Except for Akshay Kumar, the entire cast is loud, tacky, unfunny, and exaggerated in their performances. It feels as if each character was instructed to overreact to even the smallest of situations, resulting in a portrayal that resembles irritating salespeople aggressively pushing a product – in this case, the comedy itself.

The Good:

Let’s get the few good things out of the way – because there aren’t many. The decent first half: While far from a masterpiece, the first half is actually decent and manages to draw a few laughs, especially once you adjust to the film’s chosen brand of brain-numbing comedy. Akshay Kumar stands out even in this segment. The production: The film is shot on a grand scale, and it shows. Each frame reflects the money spent, and surprisingly, even the CGI is quite impressive.

The Comedy:

Jackie Shroff is named as Baba & Sanjay Dutt is named as Bhidu. Soundarya Sharma’s character bends a little to pick something up and the men in the room stare at her cleavage. Riteish Deshmukh accidentally sleeps with Chunky Panday and then says “raat ko talwaar- baazi ki thi”.Comedy is subjective and if these ‘puns’ made you laugh then you’ll enjoy the film. No further comments! 

The Suspense & 2 Ending Drama:

The two endings, titled Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B, are nothing more than a financial move to bait you into buying more tickets and boosting the film’s collection – and nothing beyond that. Sure, the killer is different in each, but the plot, and even the reveal remains quite similar. And no matter which version you watch, the plot twist is so below average, it won’t even make your eyebrows twitch a centimetre.

One more slide of problems (i’m sorry there are many):

The one you end up feeling most sorry for in the film is Soundarya Sharma. She’s treated like an object, with every character lusting over her the moment she’s introduced – it’s genuinely embarrassing to watch those scenes unfold. The dialogues are terribly dubbed, and the film relies heavily on callbacks and references from earlier installments. Even a film like Stree 2 used nostalgia, but there’s a way to execute it – something Housefull 5 lacks completely.

Final Verdict:

In conclusion, Housefull 5 is a hilarious joyride that might give you a stomach ache from laughing… if you have the sense of humour of a ninth-grade teenage boy.

“Podhum Sir, Podhum”: Nani’s Heartfelt Response to Kamal Haasan’s Rare Compliment

In a recent interview, Kamal Haasan sparked admiration and headlines by showering rare praise on Telugu actor Nani. The veteran star was reflecting on younger actors analyzing his performances when he made a heartwarming comment. “If I take Nani’s name itself, it would be enough for him. I don’t even have to say ‘Thank you, Nani.’ I know he will understand what I mean from this, and the audience would too,” Kamal said, leaving fans of both actors emotional.

Nani, who has often cited Kamal Haasan as one of his biggest inspirations, didn’t take long to respond. He posted a brief but moving message on social media that read, “Podhum sir. Podhum,” meaning “This is enough for me, sir.” The exchange left fans celebrating the mutual respect between two generations of actors.

Nani had previously lauded Kamal’s performance in films like Virumaandi and Apoorva Sagodharargal, expressing how the legend has influenced his own acting journey. The acknowledgment from Kamal has now come full circle, further cementing Nani’s place as a respected artist among his peers.

Celebrated actor and passionate conservationist Randeep Hooda took to social media today to mark World Endangered Species Day, observed every third Friday of May, which falls this year on May 16. Known for his deep-rooted love for wildlife, nature, and conservation photography, Randeep used the occasion to raise awareness about endangered animals and the urgent need to protect them. He said a series of striking wildlife photographs captured by him highlighting his love for wildlife photography.

Randeep wrote in his caption, “It’s a finely balanced and sensitive ecosystem that we call Mother Earth. One species disappearing will lead to many affected or worse, ceasing to exist. On Endangered Species Day let’s appreciate and be conscious of this beauty of an interdependence. If the current set of endangered species are not conserved, humans will become the same in the future !! My relation with the nature and my love for capturing the beauty of nature and those that inhabit it started years ago. There’s a great feeling in being close and respectfully observing and capturing these magnificent creatures, and each time it makes me feel that if only humans learn that co-existing is the only truth we should know of.”

An avid wildlife conservation photographer and a long-time supporter of animal rights, Randeep has often used his voice and lens to highlight critical environmental and wildlife issues. The Diplomat Box Office Day 13: John Abraham’s Political Thriller Maintains a Steady but Slow Run

John Abraham and Sadia Khateeb’s The Diplomat has been in theaters for nearly two weeks, maintaining a steady but underwhelming box office performance. The political thriller, which released on March 14, 2025, has collected Rs 26.90 crore in 12 days and is expected to earn Rs 5 lakh less than its previous day’s collection.

Directed by Shivam Nair, The Diplomat had a decent start, receiving positive feedback from audiences. However, despite its intriguing premise centered on India-Pakistan relations, the film hasn’t translated strong word-of-mouth into significant box office numbers.

Interestingly, before its theatrical release, the film was rejected by OTT platforms. In an interview, John Abraham revealed that streaming platforms turned down the film, stating they “didn’t find it great.”

Currently, The Diplomat is competing with the soon-to-exit blockbuster Chhaava, along with the newly released Tumko Meri Kasam. Next week, it will face fresh competition from Sikandar.

Starring John Abraham as diplomat JP Singh and Sadia Khateeb as Uzma Ahmed, the film also features Kumud Mishra and Sharib Hashmi in pivotal roles. The Diplomat is still playing in cinemas—have you booked your tickets yet?
