The film “Chehre” directed by Rumy Jaffry has Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in the lead. The film’s ensemble cast includes Rhea Chakraborty, Annu Kapoor, Dhritimaan Chatterjee, Siddhanth Kapoor, Raghubir Yadav, and Krystle D’souza. The film was to be released in theatres on 9th April this year. Unfortunately, at the last moment, the release was postponed due to rising Covid-19 cases in India.
Controversies surrounded Rhea after the death of her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. “Chehre” marks Rhea Chakraborty’s first on-screen appearance post demise of SSR. Rhea was arrested by the NCB in connection with a drug case last year. Rhea is currently out on bail.
The makers of the film “Chehre” did not reveal Rhea’s role in the trailer. She appears for a brief moment towards the end of the trailer. “Chehre” producer Anand Pandit says they wanted to give the actor some space from public scrutiny. Anand also added, “As far as promotions are concerned, we would not need anyone else for the promotions with Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi present.”
Anand Pandit further added, “I don’t want to use Rhea’s situation for my commercial benefit at this point of time. If she is comfortable, we will give her some part in the promotional activities. If Rhea is not comfortable, then also it’s okay,” he concludes.
