Padma awardee and legendary actress B. Saroja Devi passed away on Monday in Bengaluru at the age of 87. Fondly known as ‘Abhinaya Saraswathi’, she acted in over 200 films across Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi cinema. Introduced to Tamil films in 1957 by B.R. Panthulu, she soon became one of Indian cinema’s reigning stars. In Hindi cinema, she starred in several hits alongside top actors like Rajendra Kumar and Shammi Kapoor, including Sasural, Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya, Hong Kong, and Suraj.

Kaash aap ne yeh suggestion mujhe pehle diya hota,” she said, cheekily adding that had someone suggested it before the shoot, they might have made it happen. She teased fans with the possibility: “If you like the film, maybe there will be a Maa 2.”
