As per the latest reports, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has set his ambitious Web Series Project ‘Heeramandi’ on Netflix. Read below to know more details on the same.

He is regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, having given Indian cinema some of its greatest cinematic gems, ranging from Black to Padmaavat. His films have the ability to transport you to another universe, one that only he can create. Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Netflix have teamed up to bring the filmmaker’s passion project, the magnum opus series Heeramandi, to life.
During pre-independence India, the show will delve into the stories of courtesans and the secret cultural realities of Heeramandi, a colourful area. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s signature larger-than-life sets, multi-faceted characters, and soulful music are expected in this series about love, treachery, succession, and politics in the kothas. The master filmmaker with an eye for detail and tremendous complexities only he is capable of will construct this piece-de-resistance.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s career began 25 years ago with Khamoshi: The Musical in 1996, and he has since amassed a slew of awards and nominations. He is known for his spectacular, visually breathtaking, larger-than-life projects like as Black, Bajirao Mastani, Guzaarish, Ram Leela, Devdas, and a slew of other blockbusters that have wowed audiences all over the world. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has garnered numerous major Indian and international prizes for his outstanding work, including five National Film Awards, Filmfare Awards, the Padmashri – India’s fourth highest civilian honour, a BAFTA nomination, and an Academy Award nomination for Devdas.
