Aasha streams on ZEE5 Oct 16 after 35-day theatre run
Aasha, starring Urvashi, Joju George and Aishwarya Lekshmi, moves from cinemas to ZEE5 on Oct 16 after a 35-day theatrical run.

Aasha, the mystery drama fronted by Urvashi, Joju George and Aishwarya Lekshmi, now has a streaming home. ZEE5 will premiere the film on October 16, 2026, a little over a month after it opened in cinemas.
The team shared the update on social media with a line that puts the cast first.
“Three acclaimed performers come together in Aasha, a story rooted in family and relationships,” the post read.
From the big screen to a living room near you
The film released theatrically on September 11, 2026. With the October 16 streaming date confirmed, the theatrical-to-digital window works out to just 35 days.
That quick turnaround is good news for fans who missed the film in cinemas. It also keeps the title in the cultural conversation while Urvashi’s central performance and the film’s tense premise are still fresh.
Why the quick window matters
A 35-day theatre-to-streaming gap is part of a larger shift in how Indian films manage their release life. For a title led by faces like Urvashi and Joju George, a fast OTT bow gives fans a reason to stay engaged instead of waiting months. It also gives word-of-mouth from the theatrical run a second life online, especially for a story that depends on tension and mood rather than big-screen spectacle.
What the story holds
The plot follows Aasha, a widowed mother who lives with her younger daughter Anagha while their new house is still being built. Struggling with trauma and severe sleeplessness, Aasha has become paranoid, controlling and easily provoked.
A minor road accident pulls her into conflict with Jeemon, a volatile truck driver. When Jeemon appears to threaten her family, Aasha convinces herself that he caused Anagha’s accident. She abducts him and locks him in the unfinished house, but her attempt to cover up the act turns deadly. The film then turns on her refusal to admit the mistake as the consequences close in.
