Mahesh Bhupathi Predicts a Bright Future for Padel in India

The second day of the World Padel League saw an exciting lineup of matches, with team owners and celebrities in attendance. Among them was Indian tennis legend Mahesh Bhupathi, who expressed his enthusiasm for Padel’s rapid growth in India.

“Padel is expanding quickly, and bringing top-ranked players to India will inspire sports fans and young players alike,” said Mahesh Bhupathi. “It looks physically demanding, but watching world-class players in action should fuel the sport’s rise here. With a 400% increase in Padel courts, India is on track for significant growth, and Padel could even feature in the LA Olympics,” Bhupati added. When asked which team he was rooting for, he smiled and said, “Cheetahs.”

Amrinder Cogi, Sponsorships and Marketing head for SG Pipers Cheetahs, was optimistic. “After a narrow loss yesterday, today’s big win has put us in a strong position. If we maintain this momentum, we can reach the finals,” he said.

Darshana Jagtap of Vernost Jaguars was thrilled about her team’s performance. “We won yesterday and are well placed for the finals,” she said.
