That everybody who encounters BTS seems to joke about becoming the group’s eighth member. As per ARMY, though, that place has already been occupied. In reality, one might claim that the title has been held by someone since 2017. So, who do fans think should be BTS’s eighth member?
Naver as well as Dispatch shared a collection of festive images by BTS preceding Christmas. V was seen holding his dog, Yeontan, in a few of the images. It was all the proof BTS supporters required to formally declare Yeontan as the group’s eighth member.
On December 4, 2017, Yeontan made his debut appearance at a VLIVE organised for Jin’s birthday. V arrived in the video’s backdrop and momentarily hoisted Yeontan up for spectators to see.
V published a video of Yeontan on BTS’s joint Twitter account on December 17, 2017. V formally introduced his puppy to admirers with the tweet. Yeontan has been frequent in BTS videos since his debut appearances.
Yeontan totally stole the spotlight in BTS ‘ documentary Burn the Stage: The Movie although still a puppy. The documentary, which debuted on Nov. 15, 2018, followed the band on the road during their 2017 Wings Tour. Yeontan initially debuted inside the film after V adopted him, and then when he emerges from a bag, he steals the show.
Yeontan appears by some to be the eighth member of for quite some time. In September 2019, ARMY commemorated Yeontan’s birthday in the same way as they commemorate the birthdays of BTS members. Fans developed birthday crafts for V’s Pomeranian as well as trended hashtags on Twitter.
On Twitter, a BTS fan commented, “#KingYeontanDay by being the finest boi in the world, you deserve every reward with in universe.”
