Robert Clark Seger or Bob Seger is a singer, songwriter, and musician from the United States. Throughout the 1960s, he played as well as recorded under the names Bob Seger and that The Last Heard and Bob Seger System, striking through that with his debut album, Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man, in 1968. He had deleted the ‘System’ from his albums by both the early 1970s, although he proceeded to pursue greater success with several other bands. With such a collection of Detroit-area musicians, he formed the Silver Bullet Band in 1973, with someone whom he achieved national recognition well with album Live Bullet (1976), which was recorded live with the Silver Bullet Band in 1975 at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan.
Well with solo record Night Moves, he had a national breakthrough in 1976. On its studio albums, he collaborated heavily well with Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, an Alabama-based band that appears on numerous of Seger’s best-selling songs and albums.
Seger, a roots rocker with such a typical raspy, strong voice, penned and produced songs about love, women, and blue-collar themes, and therefore is widely regarded as among the most well-known examples of such a heartland rock singer.
“Night Moves,” “Turn the Page,” “Mainstreet,” “Still the Same,” “Hollywood Nights,” “Against the Wind,” “You’ll Accomp’ny Me,” “Shame on the Moon,” “Roll Me Away,” “Like a Rock,” and “Shakedown,” the latter of which was written for the 1987 movie Beverly Hills Cop II and went on to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 2001, his rendition of “Old Time Rock & Roll” was selected as one of the Songs of the Century, as well as he co-wrote the Eagles’ number-one smash “Heartache Tonight.”
