The Manhattan School of Music (MSM) is a New York City-based private music institution. Bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees in classical and jazz performing and composition, as well as a bachelor’s in musical theatre, are available at the institution.
The school, which was founded in 1917, is located on Claremont Avenue in New York City’s Morningside Heights area, between Broadway and West 122nd Street. Until Juilliard moved to the Lincoln Center district of Midtown Manhattan, the MSM campus was home to The Institute of Musical Art (which ultimately became Juilliard). The Bloomingdale Insane Asylum controlled the site until 1910 when it was bought by The Institute of Musical Art.
Columbia University’s campus, wherein it has been since 1895, is nearby. Andersen Hall, the school’s residential hall, is home to a lot of students.
Undergraduate, master’s, and doctorate programmes are available at Manhattan School of Music. The conservatory welcomes classical majors, jazz majors, Pinchas Zukerman Performance Program majors, Barnard College at Columbia cross majors, as well as, most lately, musical theatre students.
MSM provides training in classical, jazz, as well as musical theatre. Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, as well as Doctor of Musical Arts degrees are all available. A Professional Studies Certificate, as well as an Artist Diploma, are also available.
