Underworld is indeed a series of dark fantasy action horror movies directed by Len Wiseman, Kevin Grevioux, as well as Danny McBride about individuals caught in the middle of a vampire-werewolf battle. The protagonist, Selene, is played by Kate Beckinsale and is inspired by that Marvel Comics heroine of the very same name. Kevin Grevioux, the writer of the I, Frankenstein graphic novel, proposed a crossover with the film I, Frankenstein in 2014. Beckinsale would have made a post-credit cameo appearance as Selene then there would have been Underworld easter eggs in such an early copy of his screenplay, he said in a pre-release interview, but none of this was used.
