The Vvaan Adds Rs 2 Crore on Second Saturday, Nears Rs 55 Crore

The Vvaan adds Rs 2 crore on second Saturday

The Vvaan is proving to be a quieter box-office story than its title suggests — but a steadier one than many expected. The Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia starrer added Rs 2 crore on its second Saturday, taking its India nett cume to Rs 55 crore, according to trade estimates.

The Saturday number came with a drop of nearly 40 per cent from the previous day. That is the kind of hold that keeps a film in the conversation without letting it run away with a big verdict. With Drishyam: The Conclusion dominating screens, The Vvaan needed a stronger second weekend to upgrade its status from average to hit.

What the second Saturday changes

The film is expected to close its second weekend in the Rs 8-9 crore range. That would push the total cume to roughly Rs 58-59 crore nett. In trade terms, that keeps the verdict at AVERAGE — respectable for a mid-sized title, but short of the clean-hit label the makers would have wanted.

The context matters more than the number alone:

  • Recovery story: Pinkvilla notes that a month ago the film seemed “dead on arrival,” so reaching this point is itself a win.
  • Regional strength: Bihar is the film’s best-performing market, helped by its Chhath Puja plot.
  • Competition: The hold against Drishyam: The Conclusion is the key reason the verdict has stayed average.

Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, the film also features Anup Soni, Sunil Grover, Shweta Tiwari and Maniesh Paul in key roles. That ensemble gives it broader recognition, but the box office is being driven by the story’s regional resonance.

Why Bihar is doing the heavy lifting

The Vvaan: Force of the Forest follows Rishi, an engineer who returns to his ancestral village in Bihar with his wife to settle a family property dispute. When a development project threatens a sacred forest, he is drawn into a centuries-old mystery. That rooted, faith-and-nature storyline is exactly the kind of local hook that can turn a territory into a stronghold.

For Bollywood fans, the takeaway is familiar: a film does not need to win everywhere on day one if it can build a loyal pocket. The question now is whether The Vvaan can stretch that Bihar connection into steady weekdays, or whether the Drishyam 3 wave will keep its ceiling in place.

What comes next

The second weekend is the moment a film converts curiosity into a verdict. For The Vvaan, the current signal is “average, with a real audience.” If the weekdays hold, it can protect that status and maybe surprise; if they slide, the conversation will settle quickly.

To move from average to hit, the film would need exceptionally steady weekdays and a soft third-weekend fall. With Drishyam 3 still drawing family audiences, that is a tall order — but the Bihar base gives it at least a floor. Still, this is a good result for a film that had low expectations a month ago; “good” and “hit” are different things at the Indian box office.
