Margaret Qualley, an American actress, will star in and executive produces The End of Getting Lost, a Europe-set mystery thriller based on Robin Kirman’s forthcoming novel, with Paul Mescal in discussions to co-star.

The storey follows a young married couple, Gina (Qualley) and Duncan (Mescal), on what Duncan claims is their honeymoon, but after Gina suffers a mysterious accident, the storey begins to toggle between past and present — and POV between husband and wife — to uncover a portrait of love’s power and dangers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

As the two travel across Europe, their past lives threaten to resurface, whereas the truth becomes increasingly elusive.

Deniz Gamze Ergüven, the director of Mustang, will helm the picture, which will then be adapted for the cinema by Kirman. Dakota Johnson and Ro Donnelly will produce under their TeaTime Pictures label, having presented two films at the Sundance Film Festival recently.

Mustang, directed by Ergüven, was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Episodes of HBO’s Perry Mason, The Handmaid’s Tale, and The First are among her other directorial credits.

Magaret Qualley is most known for her role in the Netflix series Maid, for which she received critical praise. Paul Mescal rose to prominence thanks to the Hulu series Normal People, and he can currently be seen in Maggie Gyllenhaal’s film The Lost Daughter.

Simon & Schuster will release The End of Getting Lost: A Novel on February 15.
