Srimanthudu

Koratala Siva wrote and directed Srimanthudu, a Telugu-language action drama movie released in 2015. Mythri Movie Makers and G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. are the producers of the movie. Mahesh Babu, Shruti Haasan, Jagapati Babu, and Rajendra Prasad appear in the movie. In supporting roles, Sampath Raj, Mukesh Rishi, Sukanya, as well as Harish Uthaman appear. Eros International was in charge of global distribution.

The movie follows Harsha Vardhan (Mahesh Babu), a young man who inherits his father Ravikanth’s business empire (played by Jagapati Babu). Harsha adopts a rural hamlet named Devarakota after being urged by his buddy Charuseela (Haasan) to study about his and his father’s family origins there. He spends some time attempting to improve the local people’s standard of living and the community’s infrastructure. His attempts enrage local mafia leader Sashi (Sampath Raj) and his political brother Venkata Ratnam (played by Mukesh Rishi).

UTV Motion Pictures was planned to produce Srimanthudu, however the firm walked out due to disagreements with Siva. Siva created the screenplay as well as directed the movie.

R. Madhi was the cinematographer, while Devi Sri Prasad created the soundtrack. The film was edited by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. On August 11, 2014, Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad began filming. Principal photography in Pune began on November 7, 2014, and ended in mid-June 2015. Though the majority of the film was shot in and around Hyderabad, there were some scenes shot in Tamil Nadu and Malaysia as well.

Srimanthudu and its Tamil dubbed version, Selvandhan, were released on the same day in over 2500 theatres throughout the world on August 7, 2015. It received favourable critical reviews and became a financial success, generating almost $2.0 billion worldwide on a budget of $400–700 million, making it the third highest-grossing Telugu movie of all times. Many celebrities, officials, and politicians declared intentions to develop backward villages just after movie’s premiere, and promoted the adoption of villages in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
