Salman Khan and Chandni played the major parts in this drama movie Sanam Bewafa. Puneet Issar, who had a pivotal role in the movie, says that has pleasant recollections of collaborating upon that, particularly alongside Salman Khan.

Sanam Bewafa, a movie depicting two fighting Pathan tribal families as well as the simplicity of adolescent romance, was indeed a smash hit when this was released around 1991. three decades later, Puneet Issar, who featured Salman Khan, Chandni, Danny Denzongpa, and late actor Pran inside the movie, took a journey down the rabbit hole to explain how he believes the movie still is fresh in people’s minds.

Issar said that, who portrayed Afzal Khan inside the Saawan Kumar Tak-directed movie, agrees, “The film is timeless. The music of the film composed by Mahesh-Kishor and the charisma of Salman Khan is what made the film a hit, a super-duper hit. Along with that, the dialogues were just superb, the story was emotional and it connected with the audience. It also had some great performances, larger-than-life characters, everything worked wonderfully.”

According to the performer, it also was a significant movie for him since it was his maiden production following Mahabharat, wherein his depiction of Duryodhan received critical acclaim. He further added, “After playing Duryodhan, I did this film and people were wondering how Puneet Issar was going to perform in the film. I have very fond memories of the film.”

Issar further talks about how this movie signalled the start of a powerful bond alongside Salman. He recalls, “Me and Salman have been very good friends for the past 40 years. He is a very good friend. It was a very happy camaraderie on set and off it as well. We had a damn good equation. We used to workout together and train together. When he used to shoot I would be around on set and even he would be around set during my scenes. I had a song in that film where I had dance and remember how Salman would say, ‘Punz, fantastic job’.”

The actor further claims how he and Salman often go to cinemas just after the movie Sanam Bewafa was out to check how the crowd reacted.
