RRR release postponed as theatres remain shut owing to Covid-19

Ram Charan and Jr NTR-starrer film, RRR release date has been postponed owning to Covid-19. The makers of the film on Saturday (September 11) confirmed that while the post-production work is nearly done, they have decided to delay the theatrical release as cinemas are shut due to Covid-19. In a statement shared, the makers promised that the film would be released at the earliest possible date.

The official Twitter handle of RRRMovies, tweeted, “Post-production nearly done to have #RRRMovie ready by October’21. But as known to many, we are postponing the release but cannot announce a new date with theatres indefinitely closed. We will release at the earliest possible date when the world cinema markets are up and running.”

In August, Ram Charan and Jr NTR returned to Hyderabad after filming for the magnum opus RRR in Ukraine. The entire cast and crew took to Instagram to share an adorable video with the director.

Sharing the clip, the makers wrote, “Wrapped up a two-week-long electrifying song schedule in #Ukraine! #RRRMovie #RRR.”

About RRR

Directed by SS Rajamouli, the action drama is set in the pre-independence era and conveys the story of two Indian revolutionaries. Komaram Bheem (Rama Rao and Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan), who fought against the Nizam of Hyderabad and British Raj respectively. Apart from Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the film also stars Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Shriya Saran, Ray Stevenson, and Olivia Morris in pivotal roles. The first song, Dosti, was released on Friendship Day, August 1.
