Ramayana drops Ravie Dubey’s Lakshman poster before Nov 5
Ravie Dubey steps into the warrior stance of Lakshman in a new Ramayana poster days before the epic's November 5 worldwide release.

Ramayana’s promotional campaign has turned its focus to the epic’s second brother. With the first instalment of Nitesh Tiwari’s two-part adaptation set for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, the makers have released a solo character poster of Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.
A warrior framed by devotion
The new poster shows Lakshman in a battle-ready stance, bow and arrow in hand. Visually, it mirrors the earlier solo poster of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, placing the two brothers within one visual world and making their bond part of the design.
The makers introduced the still with the line: “A devoted brother. A fearless warrior. Rama’s shield.” That framing matters because Lakshman’s place in the epic rests on loyalty and companionship, not separate ambition.
What Ravie Dubey says about the role
Ravie Dubey described Lakshman as a rare mix of “strength, courage, devotion and selflessness.” He added that being trusted with the character is “both an honour and a responsibility that I hold very close to my heart,” and said he hopes viewers connect with the sincerity the team brought to the part.
The campaign’s bigger picture
This is the latest step in a character-by-character introduction ahead of release. The principal cast includes:
- Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama
- Sai Pallavi as Sita
- Yash as Ravana
- Sunny Deol as Hanuman
- Ravie Dubey as Lakshman
The film is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios, in association with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. It will open in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, with IMAX among its premium formats. Sony Pictures will handle global distribution outside India, while Dharma Productions will oversee the Hindi-speaking market.
Why the reveal matters
For an adaptation of this scale, each character poster is a compact promise about tone. Showing Lakshman already armed reads as a signal that the film is leaning into the epic’s warrior energy, which matters for audiences deciding whether to see it in IMAX or travel for a premium screen.
The long game is just as significant. A second part is planned for Diwali 2027, so the November release is being positioned as the start of a franchise. Every new character reveal, including this one, doubles as audience onboarding for the story still to come.
