Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash led the Los Angeles world premiere of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana ahead of its November 5 release.

Ramayana's ₹4000 crore global premiere in LA

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana took its first full step onto the world stage with a world premiere at the David Geffen Theatre inside the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on October 28. Internationally, the film is being presented as Ramayana: Rise of a Legend.

The invite-only 3D screening began at 7 am IST and gave the cast its first red-carpet moment for the two-part epic. The screening hall filled with Indian and international attendees before the first show, and videos from inside the venue circulated on social media.

Stars arrive for the first screening

Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Rama, wore a silver bandhgala and met fans waiting at the venue. Sai Pallavi, who plays Sita, chose a pink saree and stopped for autographs and selfies before her red-carpet turn.

Yash, who plays Ravana, arrived with wife Radhika Pandit and walked the carpet hand-in-hand with her before greeting fans. Director Nitesh Tiwari opted for a maroon bandhgala, and producer Namit Malhotra wore blue.

Guests from the Indian film industry and international entertainment circles attended, with Jada Pinkett Smith, Benji Kelly and Gisella Marengo among the names spotted.

A global push for an Indian epic

The premiere at the Academy Museum signals how seriously Ramayana is being positioned for audiences beyond India. The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Yash and Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG. Based on Valmiki’s epic, it is reported on a budget of ₹4000 crore, with Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman composing the music.

What audiences can expect next:

  • Part one of Ramayana opens in cinemas on November 5.
  • The second part is planned for Diwali 2027.
  • Sunny Deol plays Hanuman and Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman, with Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta and Kajal Agarwal in key roles.

For fans, the Los Angeles premiere is not just a red-carpet moment; it is the first proof that the film is moving towards its release. If you have been waiting for a big-screen Indian epic, November 5 is the date to circle.
