Ramayana Part 1 Sets Worldwide Release for Nov 5, 2026
Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana Part 1 will hit cinemas worldwide on November 5, 2026 in five languages and IMAX, with advance bookings opening on Dussehra.

One of Indian cinema’s most ambitious projects finally has a global release date. On the first day of Navratri, the makers of Ramayana confirmed that Part 1 of the two-part epic will arrive in cinemas worldwide on November 5, 2026. The announcement came with a new ensemble poster featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Yash as Ravana.
A poster built on contrast
The key art places Kapoor, Pallavi and Dubey in the foreground, while Yash’s Ravana towers over them. It is a simple visual argument: a story about three central figures, and the larger-than-life force they stand against.
The makers underlined the occasion with a caption on social media.
“Yeh Ram ke Yug ka Aarambh hai.”
That line, paired with the Navratri timing, frames the release not as a routine film date but as the start of a longer cinematic event.
What the announcement confirms
- Ramayana Part 1 opens worldwide on November 5, 2026.
- Advance bookings open on Dussehra.
- The film will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
- IMAX and premium formats are part of the plan.
- Part 2 is scheduled for Diwali 2027.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Sony Pictures will distribute the film globally outside India, while Dharma Productions will handle the Hindi-speaking market. Sunny Deol also joins the cast as Hanuman.
Why the five-language plan matters
A multi-language release is more than a subtitling decision. It is a distribution strategy that treats the film as a pan-Indian event from the very first poster. Instead of opening in Hindi and then expanding, Ramayana Part 1 is being sold simultaneously to audiences in five language markets, with IMAX screens adding a premium ticket option.
That matters because the film is based on one of India’s most revered stories, and the casting is designed to travel across regions. Yash heads the poster’s antagonist role, and the ensemble gives each language market a familiar face.
What to do before Dussehra
If you want the best seats, the Dussehra booking window is the moment to act. Premium formats for a film of this scale tend to sell through quickly in metro cities, and choosing your language at the time of booking will help you lock a show near you before single screens fill up.
The November 5 date is the immediate focus, but Part 2’s Diwali 2027 slot tells audiences this is a planned two-part journey. With the poster now out and the date set, the marketing has moved from introduction to action: know the date, pick the format, and book early.
