Ramayana Day 3 advance booking crosses Rs 47 crore

Ranbir Kapoor and Yash's Ramayana sells 12.19 lakh Day 3 tickets in advance, grossing Rs 47.05 crore across 22,572 shows.

Ramayana Day 3 advance booking crosses Rs 47 crore gross

Ramayana is walking into Day 3 with a serious cushion. The Ranbir Kapoor–Yash mythological epic has sold 12,19,924 tickets in advance for its third day, collecting Rs 47.05 crore gross across 22,572 shows, as per trade figures reported by Bollywood Hungama.

To be clear, this is advance booking, not the final Day 3 collection. The money is already locked in before the first Sunday show opens, and that is the story. It tells us that the film’s pull has not faded after its initial days, and that fans are still planning their weekend around it.

Maharashtra on top, Karnataka close behind

The state-level map is revealing. Maharashtra leads with Rs 9.81 crore gross from 1,79,700 tickets across 3,677 shows. Karnataka is right behind at Rs 8.59 crore from 1,68,309 tickets across 1,434 shows. The National Capital Region has chipped in Rs 5.12 crore from 82,431 tickets across 2,016 shows.

Karnataka’s number deserves attention because Yash’s fan base there has historically been able to lift a film’s weekend. For Ramayana, that regional strength is showing up in the advance window itself.

Mumbai and Bengaluru lead the city push

At the city level, Mumbai has registered Rs 2.35 crore gross from 41,668 tickets. Bengaluru is even more active, with two reported booking figures of Rs 2.06 crore and Rs 1.92 crore gross. The dual Bengaluru numbers indicate demand is spread across multiple formats and showtimes rather than concentrated in one pocket.

That matters because city-level spreads often determine how many additional shows exhibitors add through the day. If a city is selling across the board, theatres have reason to open more capacity.

Why Sunday is the real test

For a big-scale Indian film, the third day is typically the first Sunday, and it is the most important day of the opening stretch. A strong advance gives exhibitors confidence to add shows and hold screens. But the final number will depend on spot bookings and walk-ins, which are harder to predict.

Advance booking is simply the share of tickets sold before showtime. In Indian box office reporting, it is watched closely because it tells exhibitors how much demand is already committed. A high advance total doesn’t guarantee a high final collection, but it reduces the downside.

Here is where the film stands before the day begins:

  • 12,19,924 tickets sold in advance for Day 3
  • Rs 47.05 crore gross collected from advance sales
  • 22,572 shows covered in the advance window
  • Top markets: Maharashtra, Karnataka and NCR

The broad question now is whether Ramayana can turn its advance cushion into a blockbuster Sunday. The Maharashtra, Karnataka and NCR numbers suggest the interest is wide and not dependent on a single city. If spot bookings follow the same pattern, the day’s final collection could climb well beyond the advance total.
