Queen is a Bollywood comedy-drama film directed by Vikas Bahl as well as produced by Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, and Madhu Mantena that was released in 2014. Kangana Ranaut plays a major role, alongside Lisa Haydon and Rajkummar Rao providing supporting performances. The movie follows the story of Rani Mehra, a shy Punjabi girl representing New Delhi that goes on her honeymoon by herself in Paris and Amsterdam when the fiancé cancels the marriage. Queen’s screenplay was co-written by Bahl, Chaitally Parmar, and Parveez Shaikh. The movie’s dialogues were written by Anvita Dutt Guptan. Ranaut is credited as a supplementary dialogue writer after Bahl pushed her to compose her words while shooting.

The music was composed by Amit Trivedi, while the words were written by Guptan. Queen’s principal photography started in 2012 and lasted 45 days. Queen garnered unanimous critical acclaim, with critics hailing this as the finest Feature film of 2014, praising its directing, script, and title performances by Kangana Ranaut. The movie has made approximately 2.2 billion (US$31 million) worldwide on a production budget of 105 million (US$1.5 million), making it a significant smash hit. Several prizes were given to the movie. The movie won six major prizes just at the 60th Filmfare Awards event, notably Best Movie, Best Director, and Best Actress for Kangana Ranaut.

The movie won Best Hindi Film as well as Best Actress at the 62nd National Film Awards ceremony.

Several feminist academics consider Queen to be a pioneering as well as a significant movie. Several magazines, including Paste and Film Companion, have rated it being one of the greatest movies of the decade (the 2010s). It’s been called one of the finest movies of Bollywood movies by several magazines, including O, The Oprah Magazine, and Cosmopolitan. Queen was voted a few of the 75 best and most memorable movies created in India inside the previous 70 years by Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express.
