Prahaar Day 4: Rs 2 Crore Monday, Total Rs 10.5 Crore

Rajkummar Rao's Prahaar takes its four-day India nett to Rs 10.5 crore after a Rs 2 crore Monday; weekday holds will decide the run.

Prahaar: Rs 2 crore Monday, Rs 10.5 crore total

Rajkummar Rao’s courtroom drama Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam has reached its first weekday checkpoint, and the hold is steady rather than emphatic. After a weekend that improved day by day, Monday pulled the film back to its opening-day level.

Day 4 holds at the Monday mark

Pinkvilla’s trade estimates put Monday’s collection at around Rs 2 crore nett. With that, the four-day India total now stands at Rs 10.5 crore nett.

The weekend had moved upward before Monday brought it back to the Friday baseline:

  • Friday: Rs 2 crore
  • Saturday: Rs 3 crore
  • Sunday: Rs 3.5 crore (estimated)
  • Monday: Rs 2 crore (estimated)

That leaves the first-weekend tally at Rs 8.5 crore nett, while Monday is roughly a 43 percent drop from Sunday’s estimated number.

Why the first Monday is a bigger test

For a film carrying mixed word of mouth, the first Monday reveals more than the Sunday high. A stable Monday hold would suggest the film is finding an audience through conversation; a fall back to Friday levels suggests the weekend’s growth has not fully converted into weekday traction.

The Monday slide itself is not unusual. Hindi releases often lose a chunk of their Sunday audience when the working week returns. The sharper concern here is the base: an opening at Rs 2 crore leaves less room for the normal weekday correction before the total becomes difficult to grow.

Box office watchers often read the Monday-to-Sunday ratio as an early test of staying power. Here, Monday’s estimate is about 57 percent of Sunday’s. That is not an alarming collapse, but it is also not a sign of surging demand. For a film with this starting point, small percentage changes across the week can alter the final picture noticeably.

Prahaar follows an attorney navigating a high-profile case while handling professional pressure and strained family relationships. Alongside Rajkummar Rao, the cast includes Lalit Prabhakar, Jaideep Ahlawat, Wamiqa Gabbi and Ashish Vidyarthi, among others.

What to watch next

Tuesday and Wednesday will define the run. If the film stays near or above the Rs 2 crore mark, it can keep accumulating before the week closes. A sharper fall would leave the total modest and make a long theatrical stretch unlikely.

Pinkvilla notes that these figures are trade estimates based on advance trends and market sentiment, not certified box office statements.
