Nayyi Navelli books 11,000 advance tickets; Prahaar 8,500

Yami Gautam's horror comedy Nayyi Navelli has sold around 11,000 opening-day tickets in top chains, leading Rajkummar Rao's Prahaar at 8,500.

Nayyi Navelli leads advance booking with 11,000 tickets

Two Hindi films hit cinemas today with very different pitches, and the advance counters have already drawn the first battle lines. Yami Gautam’s horror comedy Nayyi Navelli has sold about 11,000 opening-day tickets across PVR Inox and Cinepolis, while Rajkummar Rao’s Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam has recorded roughly 8,500 admissions in the same top national chains.

An early lead, not a final verdict

Advance sales are a temperature check, not the box office result. Trade estimates place both films in an opening-day range of Rs. 1.50 crore to Rs. 3.50 crore. That is a reasonable, word-of-mouth-dependent start rather than a front-loaded launch, so the gap between the two films may narrow quickly once shows begin.

  • Nayyi Navelli: around 11,000 tickets in PVR Inox and Cinepolis for day one
  • Prahaar: about 8,500 admissions in the same chains
  • Projected opening day: roughly Rs. 1.50 crore to Rs. 3.50 crore for each film

Why Nayyi Navelli has the edge

Horror comedy tends to bring audiences in groups, especially younger viewers planning a weekend outing. The early sales suggest Nayyi Navelli is converting that genre advantage into counters. But a few thousand advance tickets do not decide the weekend.

How smart fans read advance sales

An 11,000-ticket start in two national chains shows the first impulse of multiplex audiences, but it does not capture single screens and mass centres. The Rs. 1.50-3.50 crore projection is a range rather than a guarantee, so treat opening-day estimates as a market mood, not a collection figure.

Word of mouth will call the winner

Trade tracking points to audience reception as the real decider. Whichever film earns better feedback in the first shows can grow on Saturday and Sunday. For fans, that means the first reactions and early reviews will matter more than the pre-sale gap.

Outside the Hindi slate, Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is also in the same release window and can pull strong attention, so the two Hindi films are not competing only with each other.
