Yami Gautam’s Nayyi Navelli ends week one at Rs 20.50 crore
Yami Gautam's Nayyi Navelli collected Rs 20.50 crore nett in its first week. The horror comedy now needs a strong second-weekend trend.

Yami Gautam Dhar’s supernatural comedy Nayyi Navelli has wrapped its first seven days in cinemas with a nett collection of Rs 20.50 crore in India, according to trade estimates tracked by Pinkvilla. The Balaji Mohan directorial added Rs 1.25 crore on Thursday, a 28% dip from the previous day.
That leaves the horror comedy with a soft opening week, and the film now needs its second weekend to do the heavy lifting.
The first-week scorecard
For a star-led theatrical release, Rs 20.50 crore is a modest week-one total. The numbers at a glance:
- Day 7 (Thursday): Rs 1.25 crore, down 28% from Wednesday
- First week cume: Rs 20.50 crore nett
- Second-weekend target: take the running total to roughly Rs 25 crore
The picture in the current market is mixed. Nayyi Navelli is performing better than Prahaar, but it is trailing the Hindi run of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2. That comparison matters because all three titles are competing for the same moviegoing audience right now, and a genre film’s hold often tells us more than its opening day does.
Why the second weekend matters
A horror comedy lives on word of mouth. A 28% Thursday drop is not unusual by itself, but because the base is low, the Saturday and Sunday jumps need to be strong. Pinkvilla estimates the second weekend could push the running total to about Rs 25 crore. Current trends, though, point toward a lifetime finish between Rs 30 and 40 crore, which would be a disappointing result for the film.
These figures are trade estimates based on advance trends and market sentiment, not final certified accounts, so the range may shift if the film overperforms in the next two days.
The story that is trying to pull crowds back
The film’s promise is a family-friendly supernatural yarn. Nayyi Navelli is set in Meerut and follows a troubled household whose fortunes change after a mysterious new bride arrives. While her seemingly miraculous abilities bring peace and prosperity, they also raise suspicion: some believe she has supernatural powers, while others fear she could be a witch.
Yami Gautam Dhar leads the cast alongside Adinath Kothare, Mita Vashisht, Sonal Jha, Sunita Rajwar, Rajesh Dubey, Aaditya Kulshreshth and Prateek Pachauri. The film is directed by Balaji Mohan.
For now, the thing to watch is the weekend trajectory. A strong second-weekend hold would help Nayyi Navelli cross Rs 25 crore and give it a chance to finish closer to the upper end of the projected range.
