Nawazuddin Siddiqui discusses his decision to play Laila in Heropanti 2

The teaser for the much-anticipated film Heropanti 2 was released a few days ago, and the public was astonished to see Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a new avatar. Heropanti 2, directed by Ahmed Khan, will be released on April 29. It’s a follow-up to Tiger’s 2014 first feature Heropanti. Nawazuddin will play Laila, a woman with a feminine side, in the film. In a recent interview with Mid-Day, the Badlapur actor discussed why he opted to play the role in the movie.

His role was described as unpredictable and quirky by the actor, he explained “I incorporated the [traits of] the character in my real life. Laila’s walk and the feminine touch [in his manners] were prominently visible in my gestures.” People informed Siddiqui that he was revealing feminine aspects in his films, despite the fact that he is known for immersing himself in his character. “Many asked me about the change in my body language and told me that my walk is different from my usual style. Many thought I am displaying feminine qualities. That’s how engrossed I was in Laila’s role. I [dropped] the mannerisms after the shoot was completed,” said Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui further stated that the realism of Laila’s character attracted him the most. He also stated that the character’s reasoning is very important to him. Meanwhile, Heropanti 2 is set to hit theatres on April 29, coinciding with Ajay Devgn’s Runway 34, on the occasion of Eid.

The actor’s next projects include Tiku Weds Sheru, Noorani Chehra, and Adbhut.
