Prashant Narayanan, Shefali Bagga Join Mahesh Bhatt’s Naam
Mahesh Bhatt reveals why Prashant Narayanan, Vijayant Kohli and Shefali Bagga joined Naam: To Live Is War, led by Veer Pahariya and Varun Sharma.

Mahesh Bhatt’s next presentation is shaping up as a character-first ensemble drama. Naam: To Live Is War now has three more names: Prashant Narayanan, Shefali Bagga and Vijayant Kohli, joining leads Veer Pahariya and Varun Sharma.
The cast takes shape
The announcement confirms a mix of established performers and newer faces. Production comes from Riddhi Chawda and Utsav Upadhyay under Utsav Entertainment and Productions, with Sidhaant Sachdev directing and Alphaneon Studioz attached as studio partner.
- Prashant Narayanan, who earlier worked with Bhatt on Murder 2, brings an intense screen presence.
- Shefali Bagga adds a distinct personality to the ensemble.
- Vijayant Kohli, Veer Pahariya and Varun Sharma complete the main cast.
Why Bhatt chose these actors
For Bhatt, the process was not about assembling famous names. “What excites me about the film Naam: To Live Is War is the opportunity to bring together actors with different sensibilities and strengths,” he said in a statement. He singled out Narayanan’s “rawness and conviction,” noting he first saw it while working with the actor on Murder 2.
On Bagga, Bhatt described her as a welcome addition whose screen presence gives the film something different. That variety, he suggested, matters when a story runs on multiple characters and layers.
A performance-led pitch
Producers Riddhi Chawda and Utsav Upadhyay framed the ensemble as the project’s core promise. They said the team wanted actors who “don’t just play characters, but live them,” and pointed to that synergy as the reason the film should feel as strong in performance as in storytelling.
For Bollywood fans, the immediate hook is the Bhatt–Narayanan reunion. Bhatt himself pointed to Murder 2 as the first time he experienced that conviction on set.
Why the new names matter
Supporting-cast announcements rarely carry this much interest, but a Mahesh Bhatt film is different. The names around the leads signal the register of the film: Narayanan’s casting points toward intensity, while Bagga and Kohli suggest the makers are willing to look beyond the usual circle for faces that fit the characters.
What we know so far
The team has not yet announced a release date. For now, the focus is the script and the cast, with Bhatt’s creative direction as the credibility anchor. First-look, music and release updates are likely to follow.
