Mysskin has 26 story ideas after Pisasu 2, Train pain

Mysskin says he is moving past delayed Pisasu 2 and Train with 26 story ideas ready, a pitch to Lokesh Kanagaraj and a script for Mammootty.

Mysskin Has 26 Story Ideas After Pisasu 2, Train Pain

Six years after his last directorial release, Mysskin is choosing momentum over waiting. The filmmaker spoke about Pisasu 2 and Train, two completed projects still without release dates, and said the uncertainty has been painful but no longer defines what he does next.

The weight of two stuck films

Mysskin has not directed a feature since Psycho in 2020, although both Pisasu 2 and Train were completed. In a conversation with Avudaiappan Talks, he described filmmaking as a battlefield where directors manage “massive egos” on set and away from it. He also said he has learnt that “too much of creative ambition is bad.”

The clearest sign of how that delay felt came in a dream. Mysskin said he saw an elephant carrying two dead babies to the well outside his house; in the dream, he placed fruit and water beside them. He asked ChatGPT to interpret the image. When the answer pointed to two dead relatives on his mind, he read it as Pisasu 2 and Train — and decided to let them go. “I let them go and immediately started writing something else,” he said. “There is pain, but you have to move on.”

What he is doing now

  • 26 story ideas are ready, according to Mysskin.
  • One script has been written keeping Mammootty in mind.
  • A recent narration to Lokesh Kanagaraj was received well — the director liked it, Mysskin said.

This is a deliberate creative pivot. Rather than wait for release dates he cannot control, Mysskin is rebuilding his slate and pitching to working filmmakers. For his audience, that could mean fresh material arrives before the two delayed titles do.

Why the reset matters

Indian cinema is full of completed films that wait years for releases because of financing, distribution or release-window problems. A director with a cult following can spend that time visibly stuck. Mysskin’s answer is to treat the scripts as the asset and keep the pipeline moving. His Malayalam debut I’m Game, a cameo in Love Insurance Kompany and the upcoming Sathyavan Savithri all point to a filmmaker working across industries while the older projects remain unresolved.

The lesson for storytellers

The practical takeaway is simple: one stalled project should not freeze every other project. Mysskin is protecting his output by writing new stories, pitching them, and letting collaborators such as Lokesh Kanagaraj and Mammootty become possible homes for the work.

None of this guarantees that Pisasu 2 or Train will release soon. But it changes the conversation from delay to active momentum — and that is likely the more useful story for his audience right now.
