Love Story 2050: All you need to know about the movie

Love Story 2050

We could perhaps realise why Harman Baweja trapped every one of his aspirations on Love Story 2050, but we also get it Harry Baweja (credited with storey and direction) wish to accomplish with this one. But then why Priyanka Chopra decided to sign the line segment within a week of reading the above script, is really beyond us.

On July 4, 2021, the film Love Story 2050, featuring Priyanka Chopra and Harman Patel, celebrated its 13th anniversary. We sadistically decided for just a re-watch of just this nearly three-hour-long movie, considering how hard the self-isolation has indeed been. But our opinions on the movie haven’t altered in the last 13 years.

The movie had a lot of buzz about it, but there were a few salient points. Then there was Harman, who has been rumoured to have been a Hrithik Roshan doppelganger. Hrithik Roshan made his debut in the year 2000 with the film Kaho Naa Pyar Hain, which became a hit. Harry Baweja was obviously hoping to offer Harman everything Rakesh Roshan had given Hrithik. However, margarine isn’t really butter, and recent research has shown that it is bad for health.

And there was the issue of the movie’s huge scope. Love Story 2050’s visuals were outstanding in 2008. The movie, which was created at a cost of Rs 60 crore, gave us optimism for the world.

No, not really the future is shown in the movie – that really was abominable – but the future of Bollywood movies, the technical advancements that were ahead of us, as well as the massive sums of money which would be pouring into movies.
There’s also the possibility of Priyanka dating Harman. That, more often than the Coca-Cola can bot with a defective pelvis, sold more tickets.

The movie aimed to appeal to a wide range of audiences, including children, adults, sci-fi movie buffs, humans, and humanoids. It, however, failed to impress anyone. A speaking teddy bear had been carefully positioned as Priyanka’s buddy, presumably to appeal to children, but do children like grown-ups conversing using stuffed animals?

Priyanka’s persona was made childish. We feel this was intended to cater to a PG-13 audience once again. PeeCee spoke as a doppelgänger of Hannah Montana in this scene, and that wasn’t necessary to advance the plot – assuming you can find one either. Harman subsequently did end up boxing himself in his frantic attempt to become like Hrithik. We sometimes question whether he would’ve been better, if not better if he’s not trying real desperately to just be Hrithik Roshan if he hadn’t tried very hard to be Hrithik Roshan. The punarjanam aspect in the tale isn’t unique to Hindi films. The time machine, on the other hand, was not.
