Lambodhara 2.0 locks November 20 release with Kunal Kapoor
Mahaveer Jain Films will present the Kannada-Hindi sci-fi thriller Lambodhara 2.0, starring Kunal Kapoor and a real humanoid robot, on November 20.

Mahaveer Jain Films is stepping into one of Indian cinema’s most curiosity-driven spaces: a bilingual sci-fi social thriller with a real humanoid robot in the cast.
The production house will present Lambodhara 2.0, directed by Kannada filmmaker Simple Suni, in cinemas on November 20, 2026. It will release in Kannada and Hindi, with the first look scheduled for Wednesday, October 14.
The cast, and the robot
Kunal Kapoor leads the film, joined by Saachi Bindra and debutant Anil Shetty. The most unusual name on the call sheet is JIA, a real humanoid robot the makers are positioning as one of the project’s biggest talking points.
The story is set in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence and digital validation. It circles a simple but loaded question: can technology truly make human beings happy? The film mixes suspense, humour, entertainment and larger ideas around AI, human emotion, happiness and free will.
The premise will feel familiar to anyone who has wondered whether a feed full of approval can ever add up to contentment. Lambodhara 2.0 reframes that anxiety as popular entertainment: part suspense, part comedy and part provocation about how much control we actually have over our choices.
Why the bilingual push matters
For fans who follow stars across languages, the release is another sign that pan-India plans are no longer reserved for mega-budget action films. A Kannada title with a Hindi release, fronted by a familiar Hindi-film face and a sci-fi hook, is exactly the kind of crossover the audience has come to expect.
For Mahaveer Jain Films, presenting a Kannada-language project with a simultaneous Hindi push lets one title serve two markets from day one, rather than waiting for a remake or a delayed dubbed version.
The robot angle gives Lambodhara 2.0 a built-in conversation starter before any footage drops. Whether viewers treat JIA as a character or a curiosity, the real-robot element will likely dominate the first-look chatter.
Mahaveer Jain’s growing slate
The date also lands as Mahaveer Jain builds a wider line-up across languages and genres:
- Yeh Prem Mol Liya — with Rajshri Productions, directed by Sooraj Barjatya and starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari.
- RamBola — directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, known for Hanuman Ansh.
- Naagzilla — starring Kartik Aaryan, scheduled for February 12, 2027.
- A devotional drama fronted by Ravi Kishan, reported earlier by Bollywood Hungama.
The first look on October 14 will be the first real test of how strongly the humanoid hook connects, ahead of the Kannada and Hindi theatrical run.
