Kim Min Hee and Hong Sang Soo Welcome Baby Boy After Nearly a Decade Together

South Korean actress Kim Min Hee has welcomed a baby boy with longtime partner and filmmaker Hong Sang Soo, marking a major milestone in their decade-long relationship. The child was born on April 8, 2025, and Kim is currently recovering at a postpartum care center in Hanam City, according to Yonhap News.

Rumors of Kim’s pregnancy first emerged in January, with confirmation coming in February when she was spotted with a baby bump at Incheon Airport alongside Hong. Throughout her pregnancy, the 65-year-old director stood by her side.

Their relationship, which began in 2016, has been the subject of significant controversy—primarily because Hong was already married at the time. His attempts to divorce his wife were stalled due to her refusal to cooperate with the legal process, creating a media storm when his romance with Kim went public in 2017.

Despite the backlash and unresolved marital issues, Kim and Hong remained committed to one another and have continued to collaborate professionally on several projects. While Kim has kept a relatively low profile in recent years, news of their son’s birth has reignited public interest in the couple.

After years of navigating public scrutiny and personal trials, the couple now begins a new chapter—as parents. Congratulations to Kim Min Hee and Hong Sang Soo on the arrival of their baby boy.
