John Wick

John Wick is indeed a 2014 American action thriller movie written by Derek Kolstad as well as directed by Chad Stahelski on his directorial debut. Keanu Reeves, Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen, Adrianne Palicki, Bridget Moynahan, Dean Winters, Ian McShane, John Leguizamo, as well as Willem Dafoe are among the cast members. The film is the first in the John Wick franchise.

John Wick (Reeves) is already on the hunt for the individuals who came into his house, stole his antique automobile, as well as killed his dog, which was the last present from his recently departed wife. This movie was co-directed by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, yet only Stahelski was given credit. Kolstad finished the script in 2012 and worked on it further for Thunder Road Pictures. Basil Iwanyk of Thunder Road Pictures, Leitch, Eva Longoria, and Michael Witherill produced the picture.

After many credits as second-unit directors as well as stunt coordinators, Stahelski and Leitch make their directing debut as both a duo. They previously performed as stunt doubles for Reeves inside the Matrix trilogy.

The method Stahelski and Leitch took to combat scenes was influenced by their love of anime as well as martial arts flicks. Hong Kong action cinema’s fight choreographers and gun-fu skills were utilised in the film. The Killer, Jean-Pierre Melville’s Le Cercle Rouge and Le Samoura, John Boorman’s Point Blank, as well as the Spaghetti Western flicks are all referenced throughout the picture.

The movie received good reviews, many critics hailing Reeves’ performance as one of his finest and that one of the best action pictures of 2014. It made $86 million globally on such a $20–30 million production budget. In 2017, a sequel, John Wick: Chapter 2, was published, and it received similar critical and financial acclaim.

Tyler Bates as well as Joel J. Richard wrote the score for John Wick, with Scott Tixier providing on-screen violin music. A few pieces of extra music appear in the movie, including Marilyn Manson’s “Killing Strangers” and T-Bo and Bengie B’s “Get Money.” Varese Sarabande Records published the original soundtrack album, John Wick: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, online on October 21, 2014, and then in print format on October 27.

The CD also includes music by Ciscandra Nostalghia, The Candy Shop Boys, and M86 & Susie Q, in addition to Bates as well as Richard’s soundtrack. Additional music for such a score was supplied by Le Castle Vania.
