Saturday’s jump was the headline
Saturday was particularly strong. The film collected about Rs 52.50 crore in India, a 30 per cent rise over the previous day, with growth led by Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and the Hindi belt. Overseas markets added approximately USD 5.50 million, or Rs 52 crore, taking the day past the Rs 100 crore mark globally once again.
A 30 per cent day-on-day improvement after such a large opening is exactly the momentum a franchise sequel wants, especially ahead of a holiday-stacked week. That milestone is now in the record books: the first time a Kollywood title has ever logged two single-day grosses of Rs 100 crore or more, according to Pinkvilla’s trade tracking.

The sequel’s pace has already moved it ahead of typical opening-weekend benchmarks. If Sunday performs as expected, the extended four-day weekend could land in the Rs 400 crore-plus range worldwide. More importantly, Monday and Tuesday bring Dussehra/Puja holidays, giving the film an unusually long runway while audience demand is still hot.
Should that holiday stretch hold, Jailer 2 could be closing in on Rs 500 crore by the end of the holiday run. That would leave it roughly Rs 100 crore behind the first Jailer’s final number and about Rs 150 crore behind 2.0, the incumbent Kollywood industry hit. The first Jailer added nearly Rs 300 crore after its opening six days, which is why trade watchers are not treating Rs 500 crore as the ceiling.
