Ishaan Khatter finishes off Pippa and teases a new role as Balram Singh Mehta

Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta will be played by Ishaan Khatter in the forthcoming movie Pippa. It is based on the true story of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta, a war veteran who participated in the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971 alongside his brothers. Mrunal Thakur will portray Khatter’s younger sister, while Priyanshu Painyuli will portray his older brother. On Monday, Ishaan announced the completion of his next film and provided a sneak peek at his character on social media.

The Dhadak star shared the photographs on his Instagram account, along with a touching remark that said, “Filled with gratitude for the experience of this film. It’s been a dream to work with a team as excellent as this one. Humbled and brimming with love. This is your Captain Balram Singh Mehta signing off from #Pippa. See you in the cinemas soon” Meanwhile, Pippa will be released in theatres on December 9th, 2022.

Amritsar, West Bengal, Ahmednagar, and Mumbai were all used as locations for the film. The film, which is being produced by RSVP and Roy Kapur Films, will also include veteran actor Soni Razdan. The Burning Chaffees is based on Brigadier Mehta’s book, and the title is said to be inspired by the Russian amphibious combat tank PT-76, also known as ‘Pippa.’ Raja Krishna Menon, who previously helmed Akshay Kumar’s Airlift and the Hindi translation of Chef, which starred Saif Ali Khan, is in charge of the film.
