Wazir is indeed a Hindi-language action film directed by Bejoy Nambiar and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra that was released in India in 2016. Farhan Akhtar as well as Amitabh Bachchan star inside the movie, which was written and edited by Abhijat Joshi as well as Chopra and also features Aditi Rao Hydari, Manav Kaul, and Neil Nitin Mukesh.

A special appearance by John Abraham is made. Abhijeet Deshpande and Gazal Dhaliwal wrote the movie’s dialogue and supplementary dialogue, correspondingly. The background soundtrack was written by Rohit Kulkarni, while the music was composed by Shantanu Moitra, Ankit Tiwari, Advaita, Prashant Pillai, Rochak Kohli, and Gaurav Godkhindi. The film’s cinematographer was Sanu Varghese.

Wazir is centred around an original narrative by Chopra about a suspended Anti-Terrorism Squad officer who befriends a wheelchair-bound chess player. Chopra had the idea for the movie inside the 1990s, and he began scripting it in English with Joshi over a four-year period beginning in 2000. Chopra’s first Hollywood picture was planned to star Dustin Hoffman as that the protagonist. Nevertheless, the movie’s producer died, and it was put on hold for nearly eight years. Later, Chopra and Joshi rewrote the script so it could be made into a Hindi movie. On September 28, 2014, principal photography began.

Wazir premiered on January 8, 2016, to mixed to good reviews from reviewers, who appreciated the action sequences and then both Bachchan and Akhtar’s performances, but criticised the movie’s predictability. The movie did poorly at the box office, grossing an estimated 78.69 crore (US$12 million) worldwide.

With the track “Khel Khel Mein,” fusion rock band Advaita made its cinematic debut. A. M. Turaz wrote the song “Tere Liye,” which was composed by Prashant Pillai. Gagan Baderiya and Pillai sang the song. Bachchan as well as Akhtar sang the song “Atrangi Yaari,” penned by Rochak Kohli. Gaurav Godkhindi composed the film’s main theme music.
