Hukumat

Hukumat is indeed a 1987 Bollywood action thriller film directed by Anil Sharma that featuring Dharmendra as well as Rati Agnihotri, with Swapna and Sadashiv Amrapurkar in prominent parts. The picture was a “Super-hit” just at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing Bollywood picture of 1987. This also got a resoundingly good reaction from both reviewers and spectators. Dharmendra also provided eight successful films that year, which is still a milestone.

Dharmendra’s character, Arjun Singh, is a daredevil officer who believed in treating harshly with offenders. D.I.G. Khan (Shammi Kapoor) doesn’t really approve of his methods, as well as the two are constantly at odds.

When Arjun arrives in Shanti Nagar, he notices that it will be governed by Deen Bandhu Deena Nath or D.B.D.N., a successful businessman with extensive ties. Also with the assistance of his convoy of army troops, he has terrified the city, killing civilians freely. D.B.D.N, Arjun realises, is none other than Mangal Singh, the crooked cop who murdered Arjun’s father (Parikshit Sahni) while he was a youngster. D.I.G Khan intervenes when Arjun becomes thirsty for D.B.D.N’s lifeblood. After D.B.D.N murders Arjun’s little son (Jugal Hansraj), Arjun teams up with D.I.G Khan to overthrow D.B.D.N’s wicked regime (Hukumat).

The synopsis of the movie states that-

A strong detective is assigned to a tiny hamlet where a tyrant of an unscrupulous businessman prevails. It turns personal for the officer when he recognises the tycoon as his father’s killer.
