Fan: All you need to know about this Bollywood action movie

Fan

Fan is indeed a Bollywood action film directed by Maneesh Sharma as well as co-written by Sharma and Habib Faisal that was released in 2016. The movie stars Shah Rukh Khan in a dual character as movie star Aryan Khanna and his compulsive admirer Gaurav Chandna, who appears exactly like him, and therefore is produced by Aditya Chopra. To satisfy Aryan, Gaurav knocks up a competitor actor, and is instead chastised by his hero; devastated, the fan plots vengeance.

Sharma came up with the concept for Fan in 2006 and told Chopra about it, but he counselled him about taking on such a difficult movie as his directorial debut.

Yash Chopra presented that to Khan that same year, and Khan indicated an interest in becoming a component in the production. Khan was 3D scanned in 2014 after the project was restarted in late 2013. The principal filming for the film started in July 2014 and ended in November 2015. Fan was indeed a songless movie, however Vishal–Shekhar created a music CD with a marketing song in many languages, as well as Andrea Guerra wrote the original score.

The fan was highly promoted, and it was finally published globally on April 15, 2016, following numerous delays. The film received generally good critical reviews, who complimented Khan’s performances while criticising the editing as well as the sloppy screenplay.

The movie made 1.8 billion dollars in India as well as 679 million dollars in other countries, for just a total of 1.8 billion dollars against a production expenditure of 1.20 billion dollars. Fan won the Filmfare Award for Best Special Effects at the 63rd Filmfare Awards. The movie was a commercial failure in India, but it was a hit in other countries.

The movie was set to be released in early 2015, however, due to injuries incurred by Khan while shooting Happy New Year, the premiere date was pushed back to August 14, 2015. The lengthy post-production visual effects work postponed the release of Fan even further into 2016. After many delays, the film was finally released on April 15, 2016, in 3,500 Indian theatres and roughly 1,100 theatres worldwide. It was made on a budget of 850 million dollars, with an extra $200 million spent on publicity, for a total expenditure of about 1.005 billion dollars.
