Drishyam The Conclusion Holds #1 in UAE on Day 2

Ajay Devgn’s final Drishyam is not just opening well at home – it is travelling like a global franchise film. After a Rs 93 crore worldwide start on Day 1, Drishyam The Conclusion added Rs 86 crore gross on Day 2, powered by packed houses and strong word of mouth.

Widest overseas release of Devgn’s career

The thriller has been placed in front of audiences at a scale the star has not seen before. The release spans 1,300+ overseas locations, 1,600+ screens and 3,000+ shows, making it the widest overseas rollout for an Ajay Devgn starrer. It is also reaching new international markets that do not usually get wide Bollywood releases, which underlines how deliberately the distribution has been planned.

That scale is showing up in the rankings. On Day 1, the film recorded a $1.8 million gross box office overseas and entered the top 10 grossers across major international markets. It opened at #1 in the UAE, #3 in New Zealand, #4 in Canada and Australia, #7 in the UK and #10 in the USA.

Day 2 rankings and records

The second day shows the hold, not just the launch:

  • #1 in the UAE for the second consecutive day
  • #3 in Canada
  • #4 in Australia and New Zealand
  • #8 in the UK and North America
  • #10 in the USA

In North America, the film has already crossed $1 million in gross box office. The source notes that Day 2 set a new benchmark for Ajay Devgn overseas, breaking his previous records across North America, the Middle East, the UK and ANZ. The film also added Russia to its footprint, opening across 115 locations there with a $15K gross box office start.

The opening itself had already reset Devgn’s overseas bar. With a $1.45 million opening, the film delivered the strongest opening for an Ajay Devgn film in key international markets, surpassing the previous benchmark.

Why this matters for the franchise

This is the final chapter of the celebrated crime-thriller series, so the stakes were always going to be emotional for fans. Director Abhishek Pathak brings back Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj, with Kamlesh Sawant, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav reprising their roles. The film is presented by Star Studio18 and produced by Panorama Studios.

The strong overseas hold matters because it suggests the film is not front-loaded on the star’s opening-day pull alone. A thriller lives and dies on word of mouth, and the Day 2 numbers indicate cinema-goers are telling others to watch it. Bollywood Bubble’s review called it a 4-star theatre watch, saying, “Seeing is believing” when it comes to the lengths Vijay Salgaonkar will go to for his family.

For Bollywood, this is also a useful reminder that the biggest theatrical bets are now judged globally from the first weekend, not just from domestic collections. The final Drishyam has both the cast and the release scale to test that fully.
