Drishyam: The Conclusion Hits Rs 325 Crore, 350 in Doubt

Drishyam: The Conclusion added Rs 2.75 crore on its third Friday; its 15-day India total is Rs 324.75 crore nett, but Rs 350 crore now looks uncertain.

Drishyam: The Conclusion Hits Rs 325 Crore in 15 Days

Ajay Devgn’s third Drishyam chapter is showing the classic signs of a front-loaded run, and the third Friday made it official. The film added Rs 2.75 crore nett, a 30 percent dip from Thursday and a steeper 80 percent fall from the previous Friday. Its 15-day India cume now stands at Rs 324.75 crore nett, according to Pinkvilla’s trade tracking.

A sharp Friday slowdown

Trade watchers had hoped the film might bounce back on Friday after Thursday’s drop, but the recovery never came. Instead, the trend has worsened since last Sunday, making the third weekend a genuine test.

The Friday number ends any realistic hope of a bounce after a rough Thursday. Since last Sunday, the trajectory has stayed negative, and the film is now moving towards the close of its theatrical window.

At this pace, the conversation is no longer about how high the film can go but whether it can reach Rs 350 crore. A verdict that looked like a blockbuster may need to be reassessed unless the weekend delivers a surprise recovery.

The drop looks worse than the actual demand

There is a quieter story beneath the grosses. The film opened during a holiday period with hiked ticket rates, which inflated the first-week collections. Once those prices normalised in the second week, the fall in rupee terms magnified what is otherwise a normal slowdown.

The footfall signal is more stable. As a continuing franchise story, the third part has a built-in audience ceiling, and trade estimates put its footfalls near Drishyam 2 levels—around 1.50 crore. In other words, fewer new viewers are entering the franchise, but the core audience has largely shown up.

  • Third Friday: Rs 2.75 crore nett
  • Day-on-day drop: 30 percent
  • Drop from last Friday: 80 percent
  • 15-day India cume: Rs 324.75 crore nett

This pattern is common for franchise finales: the fans who were going to turn up have already done so in the first fortnight. The challenge is that a front-loaded total can look like a triumph early and a collapse later without the underlying audience actually changing much.

Why this matters for Bollywood watchers

For an industry that often quotes weekend grosses before footfalls, this run is a reminder of how pricing can distort the picture. The opening looked exceptional in rupees, but the real demand was always going to be limited by the franchise’s audience base. That is not a flop signal; it is a ceiling.

The coming days will show whether Rs 350 crore remains realistic. If the film cannot hold better over the weekend, the trade may formally revise its projection downward, and the blockbuster label could be softened to a hit-plus result. The numbers here are subjective trade estimates, not final certified collections, so the final picture may still move.
