Drishyam 3 crosses ₹335.52 crore, hits lowest single day

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3 has crossed the ₹335 crore mark in India, but day 15 brought a clear sign that the spotlight is shifting. The thriller collected ₹2.52 crore on Friday, its lowest single-day figure so far, while Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 pulled in more than ₹30 crore on the same day.

A record start, then a third-Friday dip

Drishyam 3 had the kind of start most Hindi films can only hope for. Advance bookings opened on September 27 and brought in ₹27 crore before the first show. Opening day delivered ₹66.75 crore net across India, the third-biggest Hindi opening ever and the biggest of Ajay Devgn’s career.

The run stayed strong for two weeks:

  • Opening day: ₹66.75 crore net
  • Week one: ₹245.50 crore
  • Week two: ₹87.50 crore
  • Total after day 15: ₹335.52 crore

Jailer 2 changes the momentum

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 opened in theatres on Thursday and instantly became the big-screen event of the week. It collected above ₹30 crore on Friday, while Drishyam 3 slipped to ₹2.52 crore. A rival blockbuster can redraw the weekend map within days: screen space, show timings and audience attention move quickly, and Drishyam 3 is now feeling that pull.

Why the third weekend still matters

For fans, the number to watch is not just the total but the hold. Strong holds suggest word of mouth is carrying a film; sharp drops after a competitor arrives reveal how much of the run depended on the opening rush. The next few days will show whether Drishyam 3 can stabilise or continues to surrender ground to Jailer 2.

A franchise that keeps growing

Drishyam 3 brings back Ajay Devgn’s Vijay Salgaonkar alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Kamlesh Sawant. The Hindi franchise began in 2015 as a remake of the Mohanlal-led Malayalam thriller and collected roughly ₹110 crore worldwide. Drishyam 2 in 2022 grew to nearly ₹342 crore worldwide, and the third chapter has now reached ₹335.52 crore in India alone.

Drishyam The Conclusion is backed by Star Studio18 and Panorama Studios, with Abhishek Pathak returning as director and co-writer alongside Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. Producers include Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak.
