Divergent

Divergent is indeed a social science fiction action film directed by Neil Burger and based on Veronica Roth’s 2011 novel of the same title. The Divergent Series’ first chapter was produced by Lucy Fisher, Pouya Shahbazian, and Douglas Wick, while the script was written by Evan Daugherty and Vanessa Taylor. Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Ashley Judd, Jai Courtney, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Miles Teller, Tony Goldwyn, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, and Kate Winslet are among the cast members. The plot is set in a dystopian and post-apocalyptic Chicago, where individuals are split into groups depending on their human values. Beatrice Prior is informed that because she is Divergent, she would never fit into any of the factions. Soon after, she discovers that a terrible scheme is afoot in the seemingly ideal society.

Divergent began development in March 2011, when Summit Entertainment acquired the movie rights towards the novel from Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher’s production business, Red Wagon Entertainment. Reshoots took held from January 24–26, 2014, with principal photography beginning on April 16, 2013, and ending on July 16, 2013. The majority of the filming took place in Chicago.

Divergent was released in the United States on March 21, 2014. Even though the movie’s action sequences as well as performances, particularly Woodley’s, were acclaimed, critics found the movie’s execution and treatment of its themes to be formulaic and unimaginative, comparing it negatively to previous young adult novel adaptations. Despite an $85 million budget, the picture made $288 million worldwide. On August 5, 2014, it was released on DVD and Blu-ray.

The sequel, Insurgent, was released inside the United States and other nations on March 20, 2015. Allegiant, the third movie in the franchise, was released on March 18, 2016.

Junkie XL scored the Divergent score, which was executive produced by his longtime mentor Hans Zimmer as well as featured vocal performances from Ellie Goulding as “the inner voice of Tris” on four of the tunes. The movie’s initial soundtrack contained Goulding’s “Beating Heart,” as well as the accompanying video was later uploaded on her YouTube account. The soundtrack also contained “Dead In The Water” as well as other songs off her 2012 album Halcyon. The movie’s music supervisor was Randall Poster. The official soundtrack was released on March 11, 2014, whereas Interscope Records published the movie’s original score on March 18, 2014.
