Brahmastra: Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Brahmastra has been completed after a five-year wait

Brahmastra, a film starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, has come to a close. After just finishing the three-day Varanasi schedule, director Ayan Mukerji declared film wrap. Ayan said the film’s shoot has finally come to a conclusion after five years, sharing a snapshot with the principal actors.

He wrote, “And finally… It’s a Wrap! 5 years since we took our first shot on Brahmāstra, and we’ve finally filmed our last one! Absolutely incredible, challenging, once-in-a-lifetime journey!!! Some hand of destiny that we finished the shoot of ‘Part One: Shiva’ in Varanasi – a city infused with the spirit of Shiv Bhagwan, and that too at the most sacred Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, allowing us to finish in an atmosphere of purity, joy and blessings! Exciting days ahead, last lap ahead! 09.09.2022 – Here we come!”

Ayan posted some beautiful images with the announcement of the ending. Alia also posted a video marking the film’s completion, along with the caption, “We started shooting in 2018. And now … finally .. The filming of Brahmastra (Part One) comes to an end ! I’ve been wanting to say this for such a long time..ITS A WRAP!!!!!!!!” Karan Johar, who is backing the film, also shared a sweet video from the Varanasi shoot and wrote, “And this wonderful, exciting, thrilling journey…one filled with the utmost hardwork, dedication, love & passion has come to an end. Only for it to unravel on the big screens for you to experience!! #Brahmastra Part One – Shiva is coming to cinemas on 09.09.2022!”

While Ayan first conceived of the premise for Brahmastra while filming Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, the filmmaker only started shooting the film in 2017-18. The film will be the first of a trilogy and will bring a never-before-seen spectacle to the big screen.

Aside from Alia and Ranbir, the film also features veteran Amitabh Bachchan, South megastar Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy, and a supposed cameo appearance by Shah Rukh Khan.

The film’s release date was just confirmed, as well as Alia and Ranbir’s first looks. Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Fox Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus, and Starlight Pictures, will be released in 5 Indian languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada – on September 9, 2022.
