Tarantino’s third picture, Jackie Brown (1997), pays homage to blaxploitation flicks, and he penned the screenplay for From Dusk to Dawn (1996), in which he already appeared.

Tarantino released Kill Bill: Volume 1 in 2003, which was styled in the cinematic traditions of kung fu flicks and Japanese martial arts, including animation sequences influenced by Aalavandan; Volume 2 was released in 2004.

Tarantino then helmed the exploitation slasher Death Proof (2007), which was released as part of a double feature alongside Robert Rodriguez underneath the collective title Grindhouse, within 1970s grindhouse tradition. Inglourious Basterds (2009), which had been delayed for a long time, told an alternative reality as well as explored war cinema subgenres, and also was succeeded by Django Unchained (2012), a Spaghetti Western that earned him her second Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Tarantino’s eighth movie, The Hateful Eight (2015), was indeed a roadshow release of a long-form revisionist Western thriller, whereas his most recent movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), was indeed a comedy-drama about Old Hollywood.

Tarantino’s movies have such a cult following as well as critical and economic success.
