Joe and Anthony Russo Brothers, the directors of Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, will produce Superfudge, an animated feature adaption for Disney’s streaming service. The animated picture is based on Judy Blume’s best-selling children’s novel, which follows a twelve-year-old boy’s sibling rivalry with his new younger brothers. The screenplay for the next film will be written by Amos Vernon and Nunzio Randazzo.

The family adventure, according to Collider, will follow little Peter Hatcher on a trek around New York City when he is left in the care of his three-year-old brother, Farley “Fudge” Hatcher, and his younger sibling up and walks away. The first half of the animated picture will bring the two siblings together in the adventure, while the second half will show them both dealing with an unforeseen problem: the arrival of a newborn sister at the family.

On Monday, at the Disney Branded Television segment of the Television Critics Association Winter Tour, the Disney+ animated film was confirmed to be in development. Through their label, AGBO, the Russo Brothers will act as producers for the project.

After Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing and Otherwise Known as Sheila The Great, Judy Blume’s original series will conclude with Superfudge. Superfudge has another television series called Fudge that ran from 1995 to 1997 before The Russo Brothers’ adaption.
