In forthcoming film The Bricklayer, Nina Dobrev to star with Aaron Eckhart

Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries, xXx: Return Of Xander Cage) has joined Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight) in the action-thriller The Bricklayer, which will premiere in Europe next month.

According to Deadline, someone is blackmailing the CIA in The Bricklayer by assassinating international journalists and making it appear as though the agency is to blame. As the world turns against the United States, the CIA must entice its most talented – and rebellious – officer out of retirement, forcing him to confront his tumultuous history while uncovering a global conspiracy.

Renny Harlin, who directed Cliffhanger and Die Hard 2, is directing the picture. Millennium’s Nu Boyana Greece and Nu Boyana Bulgaria studios will be used to shoot the movie. Hanna Weg and Matt Johnson wrote the screenplay. Executive producers will include Millennium’s Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, and Tanner Mobley.

Nina Dobrev, a Bulgarian-born Canadian actress, is better known for her appearances in The Vampire Diaries, Degrassi: The Next Generation, and Summit’s Perks of Being a Wallflower on the CW. Netflix’s Love Hard and Universal’s Redeeming Love are recent releases, while Netflix’s The Out-Law and comedy The Reunion are imminent. Aaron Eckhart, on the other hand, will play former President Gerald Ford in Showtime’s The First Lady, which will be the actor’s first major film role.
