‘Adolescence’ Star Owen Cooper Makes Emmys History as Youngest Male Winner in Any Acting Category

15-year-old British actor Owen Cooper made history at the 2025 Emmy Awards, becoming the youngest male ever to win in any acting category. He took home Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie for his gripping role as teen murderer Jamie Miller in Netflix’s Adolescence.

The critically acclaimed series, known for filming each episode in a single continuous take, also stars Stephen Graham, Christine Tremarco, Erin Doherty, and Ashley Walters.

Accepting his award, Cooper said, “I was nothing about three years ago, I’m here now. It may have my name on this award, but it really belongs to the people behind the camera and all the cast.”

His powerful performance has cemented him as one of the most promising young actors of his generation.
